Mount Anvil awards its first employee scholarship

On 4 November 2009, we announced that the winner of our first Mount Anvil £1,000 scholarship is Stephanie Wheatley, a surveyor on our Central Street development. Stephanie raced to success with 36% of the votes to fulfil her ambition of participating in the Half Ironman Triathlon to raise money for Cancer Reseach. She said "I am absolutely thrilled to have been awarded the scholarship. For me, competing in the Half Ironman Triathlon will be the ultimate challenge. It consists of a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride and a 21.2 km run. It is one of the ultimate tests of fitness. Participating in it will be a tremendous personal achievement." Stephanie will compete in the race in Switzerland in June 2010.
Two £1,000 scholarships per year are available to help our staff achieve a lifetime dream or ambition such as developing a skill or talent, experiencing something they have always wanted to do or giving them the opportunity to be involved in a community or charity project. All staff have the opportunity to vote for who they think should receive the scholarship. Our next scholarship will be awarded in spring 2010.
