Mount Anvil buys three acres of residential land in Highbury, N5
10 November 2009
Mount Anvil has exchanged contracts with Action for Children to buy three acres of prime residential land at 85 Highbury Park, Highbury N5, subject to planning.
Highbury Park is a fantastic opportunity to develop a range of housing together with publically accessible open spaces. The scheme consists of 149 homes including the retention of Loxford House, an important Victorian building, which will be converted into apartments together with a nursery and community facilities. The remainder of the site will see a mix of private and affordable new build town houses, duplex apartments and flats with a high proportion of family accommodation. The planning application is architecturally led and there is special emphasis also paid to the retention of mature trees and the creation of a significant area of open space.
The completed development is expected to be delivered by the end of 2012. Family Mosaic is the affordable housing partner.
"Family Mosaic is delighted to be working with Mount Anvil again on another quality scheme to provide more affordable homes in North London," says Brendan Sarsfield, CEO, Family Mosaic.
Anthony Horton, planning and development partner at Gerald Eve who advised Action for Children said: "The sale of this fantastic site offers Mount Anvil the opportunity to deliver a high quality development. It also signals confidence in the outlook for the London residential land market."
