Tough in the mud - Mount Anvil team raise £5k for special forces
25 May 2012
Four members of Mount Anvil’s construction team recently completed the first Tough Mudder event in the UK, raising over £5,000 for the Special Boat Service Association (SBSA) charity in the process.
The team - made up of Brett Fennell, Conor Murphy, Dave Smith and Ron Hakl – took part in the 12 mile assault course and traversed obstacles such as 12ft walls, monkey bars over water, jumping into water off a platform, walking balance bars over water, scaling a sloping 12ft wall and finally running through electric shock wires.
Mount Anvil donated a lump sum of £3,000 towards the total figure raised.
Brett Fennell, a Mount Anvil site manager, said: “The course was challenging but extremely fun and a great achievement for all who participated. Team work was the key to completing Tough Mudder - we started as one and finished as one.”
