Clive Fenton has joined Mount Anvil as Chief Executive, with current Chief Executive and Mount Anvil co-founder, Killian Hurley, becoming Executive Chairman.

This key hire is the result of a successful phase of controlled profitable growth reflected in a development pipeline of 1,300 new homes and 17,800 square metres of commercial space. Mount Anvil delivered 500 homes in 2012 and this significant increase in output is reflected in a substantial increase in profit.

Clive’s focus is to broaden the company’s capital base to secure its further growth and to adapt and equip the existing organisational structure to support this. In his new role as Executive Chairman, Killian will continue to guide Mount Anvil towards his vision of excellence. Drawing on his wealth of experience, passion and energy, Killian will work closely with Clive and the senior management team to successfully deliver the projected growth over the next 5-10 years.

With 30 years in the industry, Clive brings a significant expertise in growing major property enterprises. He was most recently a member of the Group Board of Barratt Developments plc, where he was responsible for overseeing the Group’s operations across London, the South East and the South West, a position he held for over nine years. Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant, Clive joined Barratt in 1983 and worked in several financial and operational roles including creating and running a successful West London division before being appointed to the Group Board in 2003.

Commenting on the appointment, Killian Hurley said: “I am delighted to welcome Clive to the Mount Anvil team. He is an extremely experienced business leader across the whole spectrum. Most importantly, he understands how important people are to us at Mount Anvil. This commitment to people, culture and values will remain the bedrock for further growth in the business.”

Clive comments: “I have competed against Mount Anvil in London for many years and have been tracking their steady progress and continued excellent results throughout the recession. I am thrilled by the opportunity to be a part of their success. I look forward to working with the excellent Mount Anvil team and leading them through their next stage of profitable growth as we continue on this exciting journey together.”
