It has been a landmark month, with a number of our developments and initiatives being recognised at some of the industry’s most respected awards. We recently received an International Safety Award with distinction from the British Safety Council, a recognition of our commitment to keeping our people safe and well at work, and to creating a business that prioritises that commitment. 436 companies from across the UK, Asia, Africa and the Middle East were commended at the awards, and we were one of only 30 to receive an award with distinction.

Now in their 58th year, the International Safety Awards recognise and celebrate organisations from all sectors that demonstrate exceptional Health and Safety in the workplace. The awards’ independent judges found that we showed an outstanding commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health in 2015. As Health and Safety Director Simon Walker says, “We are thrilled to receive such a prestigious award from the British Safety Council. The health and wellbeing of our people is our number one priority as an organisation, and it’s great to have recognised.”

Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, congratulated us on our success: “The British Safety Council commends Mount Anvil on their achievement. Our warmest congratulations. The British Safety Council’s vision is that no one should be injured or made ill by work, anywhere in the world. We commend the winning organisations and urge them to continue working with us to ensure that our vision becomes a reality.”
