It’s an exciting time for the team at Dollar Bay. Finishing touches to the development’s signature rippled glass façade are now complete, allowing the crane that has enabled and overseen the placement of this landmark tower’s 16,000 sq m of glass, to be removed.
The louvre panels, that make up the west and east sides of the crystalline tower, and enable residents to regulate temperature and airflow in their private winter gardens, will have a lifting capacity of around 500 tonnes - enough power to lift 11 Boeing 737s.
Inside, the comfort cooling system, that allows residents to tailor temperatures across their living spaces and bedrooms, is complete. Utilising innovative new technology to extract water from the dock and pass this through a heat exchange unit, we are able to cool the apartments. The water is then fed back into the dock to complete the circuit. Dollar Bay is the first building in the Canary Wharf area to incorporate this technology.
Work on site continues ahead of schedule, with other recent milestones including the opening of the development’s second show apartment and the completion of both the concierge and the first phase of local landscaping.
The team are also celebrating receiving both a Pride in the Job and Seal of Excellence Awards from the NHBC, and all on site are now looking forward to welcoming the first Dollar Bay residents to their breathtaking new homes overlooking the Thames, the South Dock and Canary Wharf later this month.
