The Eagle, a joint venture from Mount Anvil, Ares and Morgan Stanley, was awarded 'Residential Development of the Year' at a prestigious awards lunch held in the Grand Ballroom of the Park Lane Hilton. As the development’s architect, the inimitable Terry Farrell, says, “The Eagle captures the pioneering spirit and excitement of Old Street and creates a standout new landmark for London's skyline”.
Hosted by Variety, The PROPS is a highlight of the annual construction calendar—the oldest property awards event in the UK and now, 25 years on, among the most celebrated. As well as being a benchmark for excellence across the construction industry, the PROPS also raise money for Variety, the children’s charity. To date the awards have raised almost £9 million.
It was a memorable week for Mount Anvil, as success for The Eagle at the PROPS followed a Gold Award for Lexicon at this year’s Considerate Constructors Awards.
Mount Anvil CEO Killian Hurley says “We are delighted to accept this award. The PROPS were established in the same year as Mount Anvil, and this is the perfect way of celebrating our shared 25th year in the industry”. The PROPS host, England and the British & Irish Lions rugby legend Martin Bayfield, congratulated The Eagle for its standout, Art Deco-inspired architecture and “decadence at every level".
Sleek, stylish and utterly fearless, The Eagle is a landmark tower just minutes from Old Street station, Silicon Roundabout and EC1's thriving Tech City. It contains 206 breathtaking contemporary homes over 26 floors, including an unapologetically luxurious penthouse collection, Eagle Black. The development is now completely sold out.
