Hampstead Manor gets its gardens

The team at Hampstead Manor have been working to finish the communal gardens in time for summer. Residents will be able to enjoy the very best of life in this quiet, leafy corner as soon as they move in. Read more below.

Construction Update

External works at Hampstead Manor are approaching completion. Almost all hard and soft landscaping (including all groundworks and planting) is now complete across the West Courtyard, with work ongoing but progressing well in the Kidderpore Hall garden area.

Kidderpore Hall, the site’s landmark Grade II-listed manor house continues to undergo refurbishment works, with the façade and windows nearing completion.

Work on the East Courtyard is now underway, with hard landscaping progressing well and a boundary wall along the site’s Croft Lane edge also nearly complete. Work to create the scheme’s new driveway has now commenced, and construction of the underground car park is ongoing.

Work to fit out the residents’ spa, pool and fully equipped gymnasium is very advanced, and we're now in the commissioning stages. The gym equipment has already been installed and work to the changing room areas are well underway.

In the Rosalind Franklin building quality checking and decorating are ongoing. 34 apartments are decorated, with work underway on a further two apartments and all remaining communal areas. Quality checks and communal decoration are also progressing well in the Lord Cameron building, with handover expected later this month.

In the Chapel, construction work to the building’s new rear terrace continues and is now really starting to take shape. Plastering throughout the building is now complete, and decorating has begun.

All of the development’s townhouses are complete and awaiting final sign off before welcoming their new homeowners.

Dust, Noise & Vibration Monitoring

Throughout construction work at Hampstead Manor, we have had specialist equipment monitoring dust, noise and vibration levels across site. This has allowed us to manage and mitigate our impact on the local environment, residents and existing buildings on site in real time. All of these monitors have now been removed from site as construction approaches completion.

International Women’s Day & Hampstead Manor’s New Show Apartment

In March we celebrated International Women’s Day on site with the launch of a new show apartment.

Women’s education is a cornerstone of Hampstead Manor’s heritage – the site was formerly home to Westfield College, a former women’s college for botany and the first of its kind to prepare women for progression to a university degree.

The new 1,223 sq ft show apartment was formerly a science laboratory in the college. It's located directly below the site’s clocktower within the period conversion of Maynard – an early 20th century building that comprises just 16 apartments.
