The purpose of the initiative is to help enhance the IT skills of the local community and help equip them to be able to better use a wide range of IT software and programmes, both at work and at home.
The first of the sessions - hosted by Mount Anvil’s IT team, with support from the Queen's Wharf Project team - launched earlier this month to a crowd of both existing and new learners, and was focused on online security to help local residents feel confident and safe whilst using the Internet. A representative of the Borough was also present and described it as “a great success”.
Following the popularity of our pilot sessions, Hammersmith and Fulham council now plans to partner with other sector-leading organisations to promote the scheme more widely across the borough. For more information about the sessions, and to sign up for the next one, visit our Queen’s Wharf local community website, or find out more about our Queen's Wharf scheme.
