Making a mark on the skyline

It’s all hands on deck at Royal Docks West where we’ve clocked up over 180,460 working hours this year, giving us the chance to make fast progress on site. Our attention to detail continues to drive results, with Royal Docks West recently achieving 99.96% in an audit by the Health and Safety Executive – a testament to the great care we put into every single home we create. See for yourself the progress that we're making in our video tour and get the latest updates below.

The striking design of Royal Docks West is raising heads all around the Docklands and making a mark on the skyline, as the brickwork is complete on the façade and the majority of the scaffold  is now struck. With the landscaping of the podium gardens almost done, paving being laid and brickwork nearly finished, the exterior is set to reveal its full glory this summer.

Interior works are well underway too, with plastering done in all areas and final painting works being finished on the top two floors. Decorations of the communal corridors is now up to level 11 with carpets being laid on levels one to five and the installation of the passenger lifts is complete.

A warm welcome

We can’t wait to open the concierge desk on 15th October and we've already recruited a friendly and professional concierge team to ensure the desk is staffed 24/7. We’re thrilled to welcome Nick Shaw as Site Supervisor. Nick's looking forward to welcoming residents to Royal Docks West and brings a wealth of experience of Mount Anvil developments (most recently at one of our other waterside jewels – Queen’s Wharf) . Meanwhile on the construction side of things the floor tiles in the concierge area have been laid, and carpentry is ongoing – with the concierge desk, feature wall panels and postboxes due to be delivered to site in due course.

Our customer experience team is working closely with site to ensure that we’re handing over homes of the highest quality. The commissioning teams are also carrying out multi-point checks on the plumbing, heating and ventilation systems.

Be part of London's most exciting regeneration

It’s fantastic to see the building and the surrounding area coming to life thanks to a £3.7 bn regeneration creating new public spaces, transport connections, shops, parks and schools, as well as exciting events surrounding the development:

  • London City Swim. The area surrounding the Docklands is famous for water sports, with top clubs and venues nearby, like the London Watersports Centre, the Urban London Beach and the Open Water Swimming club. On the 21st September the neighbourhood will also play host to a 500 metre charity swim, bringing together hundreds of swimmers and aiming to raise £200,000 towards fighting Motor Neurone Disease (MND or ALS). Check out the event here: https://www.londoncityswim.com/
  • The Cake and Bake Show. The UK’s biggest baking event is taking place on our doorstep. From the 5th to the 7th of October ExCeL London will become a baker’s heaven, with decorating and sugar crafting events, competitions, display tables and celebrity experts on hand. More on this here: https://www.thecakeandbakeshow.co.uk/
