Mount Anvil’s 990-home scheme at Friary Park, delivered in partnership with leading housing association Catalyst, has received a resolution to grant planning from Ealing Council’s planning committee.
We’ll be working closely with Catalyst, using our shared experience of delivering high-quality mixed-tenure homes to transform the estate. The scheme plans to deliver 45% affordable housing, and increases the number of rented homes on the site to 265, including 28 London affordable rent homes.
We’ve developed the proposal with Catalyst and Friary Park residents, ensuring local voices have been at the heart of key decisions, and that the development will provide both existing residents and the new community with the homes and facilities that they need.
Philip Jenkins, Group Development Director at Catalyst, said: “We’d like to thank our customers and everyone else that has been involved in the consultation for these exciting new proposals for Friary Park since 2014. We are eager and now ready to bring forward a new estate that the whole community can live in, play in, and enjoy for years to come.”
Cecilia Aridegbe, resident and chair of the Residents Steering Group, said: “We are really happy with the councillors’ decision. Catalyst and Mount Anvil have ensured our views are heard and we feel they have really listened to us. The regeneration will deliver real benefits to the residents of Friary Park.”
The Friary Park estate is less than five-minutes’ walk from the Acton Main Line station, where Crossrail is due to open in 2021. The transformation of the estate will offer existing residents larger, better quality homes, and create over 1000 sq. m of new retail and commercial space.
The plans will also see plenty of new green spaces on the estate, with the creation of new podium gardens, play trails and a multi-use games area.
Catalyst already own and manage around 5000 homes in the borough, including over 400 in Acton Central. Their expertise in placemaking and developing tenure-blind neighbourhoods, as well as our shared commitments to creative design, quality homes, and a long-term interest in the neighbourhoods we work in make this a dream partnership.
