Nyron Higgins, Rosanna Williamson and Mari Chisholm, all Mount Anvil, recently took part in Wyvil Primary School’s Year 6 leavers assembly and prom. The evening included a vibrant chorus of steel drums and a wonderful play delivered by the Year 6 pupils, which incorporated a variety of drama, song and dance.
Throughout the course of the evening Nyron, Rosanna and Mari shared their insights on which subjects they most enjoyed at school, and how their interests in certain curricular subjects, lead them to a career in the construction industry. For Nyron, it was playing with a Meccano set at secondary school, for Rosanna an addiction to architectural and home design programmes while studying at university, and for Mari, a desire to combine her flare for performance and bettering the lives of others.
“The contributions by all three were very well received and really added to the evening.” Christopher Toye, Executive Headteacher, The Wyvern Federation
The invitation to present at the evening followed a wider programme of initiatives at Wyvil School that Mount Anvil have been delighted to be involved with including: presenting at their school assembly, supporting their fundraising for Water Aid UK and helping to grow the school’s library through sponsoring the provision of new books.
It is part of the wider community place making and engagement programme to support schools in the borough of Lambeth through our National Skills Academy for Construction and to build relationships and share in the lives of the communities and area local to us.
