Mount Anvil in the Sunday Times Top Track 250

Great news today, as the Sunday Times has named Mount Anvil one of Britain’s best privately owned companies for growth. It’s our fourth time appearing on the Sunday Times Top Track 250 list – and this year feels worth a special mention, as we’ve continued to buck the trends of a challenging market.

This is the 15th year of the Sunday Times Top Track 250 league table, a ranking of Britain’s top performing mid-market growth companies by sales – to qualify, sales or operating profit growth must be at least 5%, and operating profit margins must exceed 2%.

Thanks to a strong year for sales, during which we completed a number of new developments that proved popular with owner occupiers and investors alike, Mount Anvil was listed in the ranking with sales of £153.7m (up 44% on the previous year), and profit of 12.7m (up 18%).

It was great to be listed in this year’s ranking, alongside the likes of Barbour, the RAC, Travelodge and NEC Group. The Top Track report also highlighted the drivers behind the success of companies who made the listing: “This year’s league table identifies many mid-market growth companies that have expanded by managing risk and choosing the right strategic options, as well as companies that make a clear contribution to the communities in which they are based”.

The report also recognised the challenges faced over the last year by all the companies in the list, from Brexit uncertainty to the impact of cost increases. It’s testament to our people and the homes we build together with our partners that we’ve continued to perform so well through a challenging year for London’s construction industry.

Profit is the result of how we work, not the motivator for it, and we continue to be committed to our core values: raise the bar, work collaboratively and do the right thing. That’s how we drive great results, and how we leave a positive legacy in London.
